This is my first blog post for Mike Nichols Drawing 340.
Here are a two examples of some gesture drawings gathered from around the internet.
And here are two of my own gestures from the first two days of Drawing 340.
And finally here is a work by Jackson Pollock called Untitled 1948-49. This is a gesture of sorts where Pollock used his famous drip/pour technique to achieve a flowing, undulating figure that is expressed in a thin seemingly continuous line.

Good start on the blog Conor! Btw, the build up you are showing in some of your gestures is great! I keep thinking about your residual project and wonder how that drawing was a different approach.
ReplyDeleteKeep it whispy and light in the beginning! Let the build up happen slowly.
Again, great start!
